THE science-fiction world of The Matrix might be uncomfortably close to the 
truth. 

Philosopher Nick Bostrom, of Yale University, believes that, like Keanu 
Reeves in the hit film, we may all be living inside a vast computer 
simulation, created by a post-human society living in what we think of as 
the future. 

He is not the only one to put forward the theory. Robin Hanson, from George 
Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, even says in New Scientist magazine 
that our 'creator' may be playing God and giving rewards and punishment. 

If so, we should live a blameless life or risk being deleted.
